Compression for sensitive and dry skin

Skin gets thinner and drier with age, and some people find nylon compression itchy or warm. A soft cotton-blend knit and a little evening skin care make compression much more comfortable.

Why cotton-blend?

Our cotton-blend knee-high has a softer, more matte hand-feel than nylon hosiery while keeping graduated compression in the 15-20 mmHg class. It comes in closed and open toe, sizes S to 3XL.

Caring for skin under compression

  • Moisturise in the evening, after you take your socks off, so lotion has time to soak in.
  • Put socks on dry skin in the morning.
  • Check your legs and feet each evening for red marks, sore spots or broken skin.
  • Turn socks inside out to put them on and smooth out every wrinkle: folds press into the skin.

Do not wear compression over open sores or broken skin, and ask your doctor first if your skin is fragile or you have reduced feeling in your feet.

Try them for 30 days. Even worn, they can come back.

You cannot judge compression without wearing it. If something is not right within 30 days of delivery, tell us: we swap the size or refund you. Return shipping inside the US is free: we email you a prepaid label.

Questions and answers

Are cotton compression socks as effective?

Ours are graduated compression in the 15-20 mmHg class, the same everyday level as many nylon socks. The difference is the feel of the fabric on your skin.

Can I wear lotion with compression socks?

Moisturising is good for your skin, but apply it in the evening. Fresh lotion makes socks hard to put on and can wear the fabric.

Compression wear is not right for everyone. If you have peripheral artery disease, heart failure, fragile skin, open sores or reduced feeling in your feet, talk to your doctor before wearing it. New, painful or one-sided swelling needs a doctor, not a sock.
