About our house
A small shop for comfortable compression
The Compression House sells compression socks, stockings, gloves and dressing aids chosen for older adults, and explains them in plain words.
Why we exist
Compression helps many older adults with tired, achy legs and minor swelling, yet buying it is often frustrating. The numbers are confusing, sizes stop too soon for fuller calves, and a snug sock can be almost impossible to pull on with stiff hands or a sore back. Many pairs end up in a drawer.
So we keep a short shelf of things that solve those problems: zipper socks that go on sitting down, wide sizes up to 7XL, a soft cotton blend for sensitive skin, a frame donner and grip gloves for pull-on socks, and light gloves for stiff hands. Nothing more than we can explain well.
How we choose
- Easy to put on and take off. If a parent cannot manage it alone, we look for a zipper, an aid or a better size.
- Sizes for real bodies. We carry socks up to 7XL and tell you how to measure.
- Makers we can name. Our compression wear comes from an ISO 13485-certified maker with an FDA-registered facility. See quality and makers.
- Brands we trust. We also carry ZipperSocks, a zipper compression sock brand we like for everyday wear.
What we will not do
We will not tell you a sock treats a medical condition, invent reviews, or rush you with fake countdowns. If your swelling is new, painful or in one leg only, we will tell you to see a doctor first, and we mean it.
Our promise
You cannot judge compression without wearing it. If something is not right within 30 days of delivery, even worn, we swap it or refund you. Every email is answered by a real person, Mon to Fri, 9am to 5pm Eastern.
