Choosing and wearing
Which compression level should I choose?
Moderate (15-20 mmHg) is the everyday level most people start with, for tired, achy legs and minor swelling. Firm (20-30 mmHg class) is snugger and usually worn when a doctor suggests it. We do not sell 30-40 mmHg: that level is fitted and prescribed by a clinician.
Knee-high or thigh-high?
Most people only need knee-highs, because swelling and heaviness usually sit in the ankles and calves. Thigh-highs also cover the knee and thigh and stay up with a silicone-lined band.
What does "20-30 mmHg class" mean?
Our firm socks are rated by their maker in the European class 23-32 mmHg, which overlaps the US firm range of 20-30 mmHg. Until we have our own lab report, we call it the 20-30 mmHg class rather than print an exact number.
I cannot pull compression socks on. What can I do?
Choose a zipper sock, which opens along the side, or use the Easy-On Kit: a frame donner you step into and rubber gloves that grip the fabric. Our guide to putting on compression shows each method.
How do I find my size?
Measure the widest part of your calf in the morning, sitting with your foot flat. Use the size finder on a product page, see our sizing guide, or email us your measurements.
Are compression socks safe for everyone?
No. Talk to your doctor first if you have peripheral artery disease, heart failure, fragile skin or open sores, or reduced feeling in your feet. New, painful or one-sided swelling needs a doctor.
Do you sell ZipperSocks?
Yes. ZipperSocks is a brand we carry, in open and closed toe, black or beige, sizes M to 3XL.

Yes, any time before it ships. Email us with your order number as soon as you can.
Can I send it as a gift?

What is package protection?
An optional $2.95 at checkout. If your package is lost, stolen after delivery or arrives damaged, we send a replacement free. No claim forms.
Do you have a discount for first orders?
Yes: sign up to our letters and we email you a 10% code for your first order. One code per email address.
Do you take insurance, HSA or FSA?
We do not bill insurance. Some HSA and FSA plans reimburse compression socks; your plan decides, and your receipt shows what you bought.
