How we write advice
Last updated October 18, 2026
Our advice pages help older adults and their families choose and use compression. Because the topic touches health, we hold them to a clear standard.
Who writes it
Our articles are written by Ellen Marsh, our Compression Wear Specialist & Enthusiast. Ellen spends her days with compression wear: the products, the sizing questions and the emails from customers and their families. She is not a doctor, nurse or fitter, and she does not give medical advice. Her articles explain general information, cite medical sources, and point you to your doctor for decisions about your health.
Our articles are not medically reviewed. When a question needs a clinician, we say so.
Sources
Medical and numeric facts come from authoritative sources such as MedlinePlus (US National Library of Medicine), the NHS, Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, the Arthritis Foundation and peer-reviewed studies. Each article lists its sources at the bottom. We do not cite other sellers' marketing.
Product claims
- We describe compression as helping relieve tired, achy legs and minor swelling and supporting healthy circulation. We do not claim any product treats, cures or prevents a disease.
- "Made in an FDA-registered facility" describes the factory's registration with the FDA. It does not mean the FDA approved or cleared a product.
- We only show a certification when the maker of that item holds it and we have the certificate on file.
- Prices, savings and delivery dates are real. We do not use fake countdown timers or fake stock counts.
- We will only show reviews from verified orders, never written, bought or filtered.

Updates and corrections
Each article shows the date it was last updated. We re-check articles at least once a year and when guidance changes. If you spot a mistake, email contact@compressionhouse.com and we will correct it and update the date.
